Wow... It has been over a year since last I made a full-page piece with a complete background. I don't know what this means for my art block, but it felt amazing to make a real piece of artwork again, like I used to so often!

The scan isn't great. The blending in the sky is messed up. And the charming pink highlights on the rocks are almost entirely absent in the scan. The blending on Shirinara's body is also off. But I hope, from viewing this, that people can tell how much did go well for me when creating this.

I'm exceedingly pleased with the line art of the rocks. I can proudly say that these are, by far, the least-crappy rocks I have ever drawn! I was not especially intelligent when coloring them, as the shadows and highlights often don't match with the forms defined by the lines. But the simple fact that the rocks here don't resemble my usual potatoes and lumps is a great sign of progress. Rocks have always been very challenging for me.

I'm also happy with the blue mixed into all the shadows. It didn't scan wonderfully everywhere but it looks really nice in the original. The overall effect is lovely to me despite my aversion to the color blue.

The anatomy is crap, but it was fun drawing Shirinara from the angle showing her spotty parts! I love doing spots in markers. There's nothing like it. Other parts that bug me include the placement of the shines on her hair and the bark texture.

Fine-Point Pitt Artist pen, size 01 Sakura Pigma Micron, dark gray Staedtler Triplus Fineliner, Prismacolor markers.

I definitely like the way you make your backgrounds, they are full of details and colors are in harmony. Beautiful artwork!
